Mobile money transfer BLIK without borders

At the end of 2025, the „Web Summit” conference took place, where the BLIK phone transfer system was presented. The first pilot euro transfer took place on-site, using the Spanish payment system Bizum. The BLIK transfer successfully reached a phone number registered in the Polish bank PKO on 19 December.

BLIK payments and transfers are very popular in Poland among both young people and adults. To make a transfer, a person needs to provide the recipient’s phone number, create a title for the transfer, and decide of the amount of cash to be sent. BLIK transfers outside of Poland are a great convenience for people staying abroad, such as those on business trips or student exchanges. The main difference between a traditional bank transfer and a BLIK transfer is the time required. While a traditional transfer takes about two days to process, a BLIK phone transfer takes only a few seconds.

The system, whose goal is to simplify payments in the European Union, is currently in a testing phase. However, as Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, the CEO of BLIK, mentioned, with every subsequent test, the system confirms its technical ready for implementation, so that nearly 450 million Europeans will be able to use the new BLIK transfer system.

At this moment, it is not yet known when the new transfer method will be available for public use. The release of this feature is planned for the second half of 2026.
